Dr. Daniel G. Pompa is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. In 1985 he established The Oral Surgery and Implant Center in Forest Hills, New York. After graduating from New York University College of Dentistry in 1978, Dr. Pompa completed a GPR at Long Island Jewish Hospital, followed by speciality training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Lincoln Hospital, New York Medical College. In 1982, he became a Fellow of The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. 

Dr. Pompa has been a guest lecturer at both Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and New York University College of Dentistry, presenting "Fractures of the Mandible: Diagnosis and Treatment" and "Blow-out Fractures of the Orbit: Diagnosis and Treatment" for the Department of Anatomy, and has presenting "To Pull or Not to Pull" as a guest speaker at New York University for Dentists attending NYU for Continuing Education from Spain, Italy and France. His Medical Emergency Seminar has now been presented throughout the country as was recently presented in 2016 at the University of Florida College of Dentistry in Gainsville, Florida. This high energy, interactive multimedia presentation will again be presented for the University of Florida on April 17, 2017 in Fr. Lauderdale, Florida. 

Dr. Dan Pompa has lectured extensively, both nationally and internationally, including at the National Meeting of the Academy of Osseointegration, the International Interdisciplinary Congress on Craniofacial and Skull Base Surgery, the XXII InterAmerican Medical and Dental Conference and has frequently presented at the annual Greater New York Dental Meeting since 1982.  Dr. Pompa will be presented at the Greater New York Dental Meeting in 2016 where he presented "Update in Medical Emergencies: How to Save a Life, Including Your Own". 

                                          
Dr. Pompa is an author, having published in such journals as the Journal of the American Dental Association and Dentistry Today, where he has also been listed as one of the "Leaders in Continuing Education. He recently published an article in the Academy of General Dentistry, New York State Journal where the title was "Update on Basic Physical Diagnosis" which can be viewed as well as previous publications on this website on the home page under "Patents and Publications".  In November of 2012 he was appointed by the American Dental Association as a Seminar Speaker and  ADA Consultant. Recently in 2016, Dr. Pompa was appointed as a Colgate Speaker.  

Dan is also an inventor, having been issued a U.S. Patent for his innovative work in the field of Dental Implantology.                                             This is U.S. Patent # 5,320,529. The title of the patent is "Method and Apparatus for Locating an Ideal Site for a Dental Implant and for the Precise Surgical Placement fo that Implant" and was filed in September, 1992 and issued June 14,1994. At that time he demonstrated a method and apparatus for the early use of the Surgical Guide and discussed the advantages of 3D treatment planning for Implant Dentistry.                         This patent has now been cited by 359 patents. His lectures have all been presented nationally and include: "Medical Emergencies: How to Save a Life, Including Your Own" with interactive live demonstrations, hands-on drug administration and in a multimedia presentation format, "To Pull or Not to Pull: Apical Surgery vs. Implant Replacement"  where he discusses multiple options when a tooth is ailing or failing.  In addition, he presents "The Single Tooth Implant: The Ultimate Creative Challenge". A shorter version of the Full Day Medical Emergency Course is offered as: "The Top 10 List for Essential Drugs in the Emergency Drug Kit". There are also two new lectures which are: "The Role of the Dental Professional in the Treatment of the Diabetic Patient" and also "Update on Implantology and Prosthetics" which is presented with Dr. Arthur Volker. Both of these new lectures have been presented in 2016 and will be presented in 2017. His lectures include: "Medical Emergencies: How to Save a Life, Including Your Own" which is presented Nationally and throughout the New York area with interactive live demonstrations, hands-on drug administration and with a multimedia presentation format, "Apical Surgery: To Pull or Not to Pull." This lecture discusses all the options when a tooth is ailing or failing, and was presented to the Queens County Dental Society in New York. Dr. Pompa is not currently practicing Oral Surgery. In addition, he presents "The Single Tooth Implant: The Ultimate Creative Challenge" which has been presented to attendees from Dental Societies, throughout New York City.
